Which Printers Use Epson 250 / 250XL?
In the UK and Europe, Epson’s 250 / 250XL Violin series is for the Expression Photo XP-980 — an A3 multifunction photo inkjet with Wi‑Fi, Ethernet, a colour touchscreen, and Claria Photo HD ink (black, cyan, magenta, yellow, light cyan, light magenta).

Older Expression Photo models on our site use different codes — for example XP-970 / XP-960 / XP-950 take 24XL, and the XP-8700 takes 378XL. Those are not interchangeable with 250XL. Always match the cartridge code on the printer label or the listing for your exact model.
Standard 250 vs 250XL
Epson sells both standard-yield 250 and high-yield 250XL for the XP-980. Right now INKredible lists the genuine 250XL range only. Standard 250 OEM is not on the site yet — we will add it when stocked. XL is the same fitment with more millilitres (typically better cost per page if you print often).

Why Six Colours?
The XP-980 is a Claria Photo HD six-colour printer. Alongside black, cyan, magenta and yellow you get light cyan and light magenta for smoother photo gradients and skin tones — the same idea as earlier Expression Photo Claria machines, with a new cartridge family for this model.
- Singles — replace only the colour that has run out (useful if you print a lot of one colour).
- Multipack — all six XL cartridges together; usually the simplest way to stock a new XP-980 or refresh a full set.
OEM only for now. Compatible 250XL is not listed yet. When third-party options arrive we will say so clearly on the product pages. Until then, stick to the genuine Epson links above.
250XL vs Older Expression Photo Ink
