Canon Pixma MG8220 Ink Cartridges

We have two different Multipacks available for the MG8220 printer.

One is a 5 cartridge set containing PGI-525BK, CLI-526BK, CLI-526C, CLI-526M and CLI-526Y, and the other is a 6 cartridge set containing the previously listed cartridges plus the CLI-526GY. Our Canon compatible cartridges were recently voted No.1 in a Which? magazine customer survey when judged on quality and value for money so they come with high recommendation! All of our compatible cartridges for Canon printers are extensively tested during manufacturing to match as closely as possible to their Genuine counterparts in both reliability and quality.

There are a few things that could be causing this. Firstly, it may simply be that one or more of your cartridges are almost empty and need replacing. Ink monitoring is only an estimate so it may be worth visibly checking each cartridge to check ink volumes in the chamber.

The second thing to try is a nozzle check. This will print a test pattern using all of the cartridges and can be used to identify problems from specific cartridges. If this pattern looks like it has not printed properly it could be caused by a blocked head or an airlock within the cartridge. Perform a head clean from your printer maintenance options before reprinting the nozzle check to see if the problem has been resolved.

Cartridges for the Canon Pixma MG-8220 Printer have an outer plastic wrapper that needs to be removed first and foremost. The second step is to remove the plastic tear off strip from the spine of the cartridge to release the airlock present inside the ink chamber. It is usually Yellow and has the word 'Pull' or similar marked on it. After that has been removed it is then safe to remove the plastic nozzle cover, that is usually Orange in colour.

It is important that the instructions are performed in the correct order to avoid spills or leakage. We also recommend removing the nozzle cover slowly with it facing upwards towards you in order to further prevent the risk of spillage. The cartridge is then ready for installation.

We never recommend installing any cartridge if it appears to be damaged or leaking in any way. All items are tested during the manufacturing process and we package all orders carefully to avoid damage. Unfortunately on very rare occasions the package can arrive damaged if it has been mishandled or agitated during transit. If a cartridge looks like it may have leaked on arrival, please do not open it or attempt to install in your printer. Contact us and we'll be happy to arrange a replacement immediately!
