Most cartridges have an outer plastic wrapper that needs to be removed first and foremost. Secondly, you should see a plastic tab stuck to the cartridge. This is usually Black and Yellow and has the word 'Pull' or similar marked on it. This tear off strip needs to be removed next. After that has been removed it is then safe to remove the plastic nozzle cover, but it is imperative the instructions are performed in the correct order to avoid spills or leakage. We also recommend carefully removing the nozzle cover with it facing upwards towards you in order to further prevent the risk of spillage.Once the cartridge is fully open it is then ready for installation.
In the event of an error after cartridge installation, the first thing to check is which cartridge or cartridges are showing the error. Your iP7250 printer display will show a graphical representation of any cartridges that are not recognised. If two or more cartridges are not recognised please check they are all installed into the correct cartridge position in the print head. If only one cartridge is showing an error it is worth removing to check the chip is clean and fully attached in the correct position, before reinstalling to make sure the cartridge is seated correctly.
This is a common issue and usually occurs when the plastic tear off strip has not been fully removed before installation. Until the tear off strip is removed, an airlock within the cartridge will prevent ink from flowing correctly. Please check the plastic strip is fully removed before installation and that no sticky residue is blocking the air hole. If this does not solve the problem, please contact us for further help.
Many compatible Ink Cartridges used to be available with or without microchips. Those sold without microchips required customers to take the chips off their old cartridge and place onto the new cartridge. We only sell cartridges that are fully chipped and ready to install to ensure a simple no fuss installation!
This is completely normal for compatible cartridges. They can often have a slightly different code to differentiate them from the original cartridges. Also, boxes usually signify the range of cartridges in the main title, in this case they will be labelled 'PGI-550/CLI-551' or similar.
