Vodafone Team up With Lexmark

By transforming back-office printing in retail stores, Vodafone is now saving 25 per cent a year on printing costs. By switching their Brother printers for the Lexmark X342 multifunction printer, the savings the company will make will be pumped back into marketing.

Each year, a typical Vodafone store prints 45,000 A4 sheets. These include daily management reports, commission statements and mystery shopper reports.

Stores were finding that their printers were not up to speed, taking one minute to print 12 pages. Due to store managers buying low capacity print cartridges (3,000 pages at five per cent coverage) print costs were running extremely high.

The new Lexmark printers not only use high capacity cartridges, with 6,000 pages at five per cent coverage, but allow stores to change the toner settings so cartridges last longer. Printing 25 pages a minute, these faster printers are already benefiting Vodafone’s 351 retail outlets throughout the UK.
