US firm launches 'stealth' HP inkjet printers

28 February 2012

VersaCheck.com's Stealth IX printer series uses Hewlett-Packard print engines and sophisticated invisible printing technology.

The firm has released two inkjet and multifunction printers that allow users to create security and tracking features on their documents.

The machines print personalised invisible text, barcodes and graphics onto blank sheets of white or colour paper, documents, checks, tickets and labels.

They can be used to create counterfeit paper for letterheads, IDs and certificates, as well as safeguarding documents such as tickets, cheques and business forms.

And they can also create documents that can be read in the dark, like sheet music, restaurant menus and on t-shirts.

Each system comes with a UV light to allow viewing of the prints, along with one ink cartridge.

They range in price, with the HP1000iX single function machine going for $99.99 (£62) and the multi-function HP4500iX priced at $229.99 (€188).
