HP to develop handheld printers

Technology that fits in the palm of your hand is pretty common these days, with smart phones, GPS and tablets making our everyday life just that little bit easier.

Well now HP are developing the handheld printer. Joining forces with Sweden-based Handheld group, the handheld printer will be the ultimate out-of-office accessory.

Specialising in manufacturing rugged technology, the Handheld Group provides PDAs and mobile computers to industries such as logistics, forestry and military.

The Handheld Group has been granted a license to produce patents pertaining to the electrical, mechanical and system design of a handheld inkjet printer.

Vice President and General Manager, Speciality Printing Systems at HP, Kathy Tobin said  “HP continues uncovering new applications where our inkjet technology can address specific industry challenges. We’re excited to combine our resources with Handheld Group to create printing solutions that will simplify logistics and supply chain operations.”

Featuring wireless communication this new printer will allow industries to print on the go with minimum fuss.
