Frequently Asked Questions
1: My order hasn't arrived as expected?
If your order hasn't arrived within 3 days of dispatch please check with your
local sorting office to make sure nothing is waiting to be collected. Although
we attempt to pack all orders to fit through a standard letterbox the majority
are too big and require someone to be in when delivered. If you have missed the
delivery it will be returned to your local sorting office and will be awaiting
collection.
Please be aware, we have received a large number of reports of 'Posties' not
leaving cards when deliveries have been missed, so please check with your local
sorting office even if you have not received a card.
Although Royal Mail do not deem a First Class parcel as lost until 14 working
days after the expected delivery date, if there is nothing waiting to be
collected at your local sorting office we will re dispatch any order not
received after only 5 working days.
If your order has not been received in this time please contact our friendly
Customer Service Team on: 0800 0336 119
2: Have I received the correct cartridges?
Most of our cartridges are compatible with multiple printers and a comprehensive
list of all the printers your cartridge is compatible with can be found on the
top of the cartridge box. If you printer is not listed it is probably because
the boxes are printed well in advance and can take time to be updated to reflect
newer printer models.
If in doubt please check the product codes on the cartridge boxes against the
codes listed on your dispatch note, or check your printer manufacturers website
to see if your printer takes the same cartridges as those listed.
3: My printer uses the Canon PGi-5 and CLi-8 cartridges, do your compatible
cartridges come supplied with the chip?
We now supply both Fully Chipped and Unchipped compatibles for these cartridges
each with their own advantages.
Our Fully Chipped compatibles work directly from the box and include full ink
monitoring facilities at a fraction of the cost of the genuine Canon cartridges.
The Unchipped compatible PGi-5 and CLi-8 cartridges we supply require you to
swap the chips from your original Canon cartridges. Although this may sound a
little daunting we do provide full instructions (with photographs) and we are
happy to talk you through the process.
We have been selling these 'unchipped' cartridges for some time now and although
initially the chip swapping procedure may have been a little tricky for some
people, due to the savings available a lot of our customers have persevered and
now regularly buy more of the unchipped compatibles.
One advantage of our RealJet compatibles is the orange 'Chip Holder' as once you
have a working chip in this holder there is no need to handle the chip any more
as this 'Chip Holder' will transfer onto all subsequent RealJet cartridges.
If you would like further information regarding our compatible PGi-5 and CLi-8
cartridges please contact our friendly Customer Service Team on: 0800 0336 119
4: I have a HP/Lexmark/Dell/Samsung/Xerox printer, do you supply cartridges for
this model?
Unfortunately at this time we are unable to supply any
HP/Lexmark/Dell/Samsung/Xerox printer cartridges. We are currently increasing
the range of cartridges available and will be hoping to stock these cartridges
again later in the year.

11: Does using compatible cartridges void my printers warranty?
The printer manufacturers make money from the high cost of original cartridges
and wish to protect their profits. They are not however legally allowed to void
your warranty for using compatible cartridges, and we are not aware of any
customer having a warranty issue from using our cartridges.

and be able to order on-line or with your official Purchase Orders please
contact our friendly Customer Service Team on: 0800 0336 119
18: What do I do if my printer will not recognise the cartridge?
In the unlikely event that your printer sends you a message saying "Installed
Ink Cartridge cannot be recognised", simply take the cartridge out of the
printer and reinstall again to ensure the contact points on the cartridge and on
the printhead are aligned. Whilst doing so, it is imperative that you do not
touch the computer chip with your fingers as the static electricity naturally
created by the human body may have a detrimental effect on the chip. If the
message still reappears, turn the printer off and then back on again. You may
then get the usual Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) warning asking if you
want to continue using a non-original cartridge. The warning message may include
a declaration regarding warranty but, as stated earlier printer manufacturers
are not legally allowed to void your warranty for using compatible cartridges.
Simply click Yes and carry on with the normal printing procedure.
Epson printers:
Some of the newer Epson printers are programmed to recognise cartridges not made
by Epson and prevent the printer from working with compatible cartridges. One
way to overcome this problem is to disable the Epson Status Monitor, therefore
stopping the printer from rejecting the compatible cartridge.
Disabling the Epson Status Monitor is very easy and takes just a couple of
minutes.
- In Windows 2000 (Win2k) use your mouse to select START -> Settings ->
Printers or in Windows XP (WinXP) START -> Printers and Faxes.
- Highlight ‘Printers’ (Win2k) or ‘Printers and Faxes’ (WinXP) by scrolling
your mouse pointer over it, right-click and select ‘OPEN’.
- Highlight your printer e.g. ‘EPSON Stylus RX420 Series’, then right-click and
select ‘properties’.
- Select ‘Printing Preferences’.
- Now, Select the ‘Maintenance’ Tab.
- Now, Select ‘Speed & Progress’.
- Now, tick the ‘Disable EPSON Status Monitor 3’ and then select ‘OK’.
- The ‘EPSON Status Monitor 3’ is now disabled greyed out in ‘EPSON Stylus
RX420 Series Printing Preferences’.
Canon PGi-5 and CLi-8 compatibles:
If there are no lights on above the cartridges it suggests that the printer is
not recognising the cartridges.
The chips on the Genuine Canon cartridges are quite fragile and very susceptible
to static electricity, this can sometimes cause the chips to develop a fault
during the transfer procedure. If the printer is not recognising the cartridge
then this would seem to be the problem in your case. Unfortunately if the chips
have become damaged the only solution is getting a new set of Canon cartridges,
using them until empty and then trying the procedure again.
If you would like us to go through the chip transfer procedure with you please
contact our friendly Customer Service Team on:

20: How do I transfer the chip from my Canon PGi-5 and CLi-8 cartridges?

CLi-8 cartridges can be found inside the cartridge boxes you have received or
alternatively they can be found here.
21: Do you deliver to Europe?
Yes, We deliver Free of Charge to Europe on all orders over £30.
Unfortunately we are unable to offer any deliveries outside the UK on orders
less than £30.
22: My printer says a cartridge is empty when there is clearly ink left, what can I
do?
It is not uncommon that compatible cartridges hold a greater amount of ink
compared to originals. The original cartridges are designed to hold fixed volume
of ink and print almost same number of pages every time. Because of higher ink
volume, compatibles normally print more pages. Below is detailed explanation of
why and how the problem occurs:
-
Instead of reading actual ink level, many printers keeps a count of number of
pages printed. Once you install new original cartridge it starts the count
again!
-
When you install compatible cartridge, printers sometimes don't reset the ink
level automatically. Once it has printed certain quota of pages it thinks that cartridge is empty even if it is
full of ink!
Recommended Solution:
-
Restarting your printer may overcome the signal and reset the ink level. The
printer will then print normally until the ink supply is minimal.
-
If this does not solve the problem, find out if the cartridge has a copper chip
at the bottom. If the cartridge has a chip you should gently clean this chip
with a tissue paper or cotton. Also, gently clean the copper chip in the printer
itself where you insert the cartridge. After this cleaning procedure reinstall
the cartridge and restart your printer.
Please note that all inkjet cartridges will have a small amount of ink left when
the cartridge is deemed as empty. The ink in the cartridges acts as a coolant
and to prevent damage to the print head the cartridge is rarely allowed to run
dry. At INKredible.co.uk all ink volumes advertised are usable ink volumes and
take this safety margin into account, for example a cartridge advertised on
INKredible.co.uk as holding 11ml of ink will in fact hold 13ml or 14ml.
